@2: If you're Canadian and over 40 you may be familiar with Uncle Bobby. He was this British guy with gigantic glasses, forever frozen in my mind in the mid 60's with his clothes and hair style. I had completely forgotten about him until I saw the first Austin Powers movie.

Of course Uncle Bobby was quite harmless compared to Casey, Mr Dressup's little clown puppet sidekick. Clowns--*shudder*
