For those who are interested (and this was just the most convenient place to put it at this time of night when no one is checking the Slog - even though I am and I live in the central time zone) MSNBC has given Rachel Maddow her own show! They're replacing Dan Abrams (who decided to give him a show anyway) and she will follow Countdown starting September 8th.
Probably the best move MSNBC has ever made.
I would like to congratulate the two Democrats who will be running against each other in the 36th and 46th Districts.

"Boleslaw" was the name of the first Polish king. It means something like "Great Renown" "Slaw" is a common ending for Polish names, meaning "famous" or "glory". Picture a guy named Charlemagne, if Charlemagne were a common boy's name.
I like how he specifies "John" as his preferred alternative to Boleslaw. If I was named Boleslaw, I'd go for a more interesting Anglo alternative...
