Hands free is not safer. The exact same research that said cell phones are dangerous also said hands free phones are equally distracting. Those legislatures passed these gimp crippled laws with blinders on that obscured half of the very pages in front of their eyes.

We are a nation of idiots and that is why God has forsaken us. What else is left but to refill my highball?

You know what's even cooler? You can type in any god damn random thing in the box and it works.

I figured with all of the various ticket numbering systems, it would just take anything, and it's true.

#1 "Hands free is not safer."

Yes, exactly. As a bicyclist (please hold the rotten cabbages and tomatoes for a sec), I constantly run across these zombie-ized boobs with the 7-of-9 doohickey in their ear, as they blather apiece and yet fail to look both ways coming out of driveways.

Today while driving by the Kent Justice Center driveway, a woman in a car looked around with that Puget Sound face that a friend of mine labelled "bovine indifference". I yelled at her and asked her to roll down her windows. Then I told her to "look both ways". Her reply was "well, I'm lost". Gee, that makes it all the okay then...please, plow through those school children, ma'am...seeing as you're lost and all!

Not paying attention when driving is assault with a deadly weapon. Drivers should be charged accordingly...

The most interesting study said that talking on a phone hands free was much worse than driving legally drunk.

So, either Cell Phones are Really Fucking Dangerous, or BAC limits are designed to let cops fuck people over with impunity.

@2 considering that Amazon sells them for about $70 to $80 it is not terribly surprising that jawbone.com will give you "$20 off" the $129 price even if the number you give them is totally bogus.

"I figured with all of the various ticket numbering systems, it would just take anything" Really? you thought that was the reason? you've just made the advertising industry very happy.

Er, well looking more closely, maybe 70-80 is an old model, there is one at Amazon for $106, still $3 less than the "discounted" price from jawbone.com (and the $106 model only got 3 stars compared to 3-1/2 for the cheaper model) and a $43 Plantronics Voyager 510 got 4 stars with over 2000 reviews!
