The Clintons are doing everything they needed to do. I think the bump from their speeches will be a lot bigger than Binden being selected for VP ( well, there wasn't a bump from Biden) I don't believe for one second that there is 27percent of Clinton voters out there who say will vote mccain, especially after tonight.

That was fantastic. I thought he hit all the right notes. It took him quite awhile to get to mccain but overall a good speech.

Not liveslogging the revered John Kerry? How can that be?

Excellent speech! I am so glad I worried for nothing.

What little of Kerry's speech that MSNBC showed, he hammered McCain hard.

I can't wait for Biden's speech.

great speech.

hope Biden and Barack are just as concrete about what the differences are esp. with lines like unlimited favors for the well conencted and incomes going down with GOP etc. versus restoring American dream and American leadership.

This kind of stuff is much better than the "I'll be post partisan" crap.

Kerry definitely made up for clintons lack of mccain hammering. That was great!

Can't wait for wave of Delawarian trends in decor, food, music.

And if Biden takes train home every night, Billdawg can borrow the VP mansion in DC as needed.

It's all working out.

In answer to Josh on the live slog: It's unprecedented for the candidate to show up at the convention before the final night. I've been following conventions since 1952, and I do not recall that an as-yet- unelected-presidential-nominee made such a premature appearance. Sorta like the bride not seeing the groom prior to the ceremony.

If the Demz blow this one, God IS dead. Couldn't understand why - throughout Biden's powerhouse acceptance speech - I was weeping. He really put the oatmeal on the breakfast table - this country is in deep serious odoriferous dog shit; they know, we know it, and if the American public doesn't figure it out before November 4, we're Melba's toast.

ps: Michelle is not so much a black Sigourney Weaver, but Phyllis Rachad reconfigured as Barack's wife.

Wow, Howard Dean just made a phenomenal joke on The Daily Show. He was being interviewed via satellite and they were dealing with a wicked time delay. After talking over each other a bunch of times, Dean says something like "I think we're dealing with a time delay here... it's like being inside John McCain's brain."

Awesome.

not sure if it was already posted here but the youtube in this link is only a few seconds long of a code pink girl being hit by a male cop pretty hard. I don't think she gets hurt so it's ok to laugh
