Also, Hillary Clinton: Never Vetted.

posted by on August 22 at 9:30 AM

Which does not surprise me, but seems to be surprising some people.

“She was never vetted,” a Democratic official reported. “She was not asked for a single piece of paper. She and Senator Obama have never had a single conversation about it. How would he know if she’d take it?”

But Hillary said that she was already the most vetted candidate in history. So, Obama took her at her word. Besides, why vet someone who has been in the public eye for so long.

Because he said she'd be on anyone's short list? So if he didn't vet her, that was a lie.

Change, unity yadda yadda yadda.

What a liar.

I like your style. Minus McCain.

A quote from that very politico page:

An Obama aide said "absolutely exhaustive research was done on her over the course of the 16 month primary. She was researched more closely than any candidate in history."

Hillary has been in the public eye for a very long time. Call it a vetting by default. I don't think it's extremely likely that she will be Obama's running mate, though.

Why would anyone in their right mind want her as VP? It'd be like having Lady Macbeth as your running mate.

@2 what is the lie, exactly?

HRC didn't need to be vetted. Everyone already knows her liabilities. Wrong on the war, lousy manager, miserable failure at healthcare, and her cheating/lying/impeached/dis-barred husband.

At this point I take everything that is said about the VP choice with the proverbial grain of salt. It is all disinformaiton.

@2 - Now THAT'S funny! Here's what I wrote in the Chet Edwards comment section not five minutes ago:

"To paraphrase PC: Hillary's perfect, blah blah blah, I'll whine and pout if it's anyone but her. Then I'll post a 12-page rant about how much Obama sucks, but then I'll write 'unity' at the bottom to make people think I'm not a psycho spammer just like clintonsarmy."

Thanks for proving my point for me. Well, minus the 12-page rant. But I'm sure it's coming.

Hilary was his coupon to victory - such false pride in the jungle of top end international politics, can we chant JFK a few times in memory of practical politics that yielded a win??

Birch B. will be booed from the convention floor

@13

Susan, if you didn't shit in your own nest every day, you wouldn't need to keep changing your identity. Don't you think there's a reason why everyone hates you so much?

Oops, sorry. Birch Bayh senior is NOT dead. He's 80 years old. Wikipedia is my friend.

I've always thought he would choose Hillary.

She is his ticket to win.

Otherwise, her 18 million voters will walk.

If he doesn't choose her, he's more of an idiot than I already believe him to be.

If he doesn't choose Hillary, she should go to the Convention with both guns blazing and sue the pants off the DNC (over Michigan and Florida), and get that nomination.

The Democrats have lied about "one person one vote." They're liars. And Obama is the king of liars.

Hey, someone ask Obama, "How many brothers do you have?" "How much money have you sent your half brother living in that hut?" "Is that what you meant by your quote, 'for the least of these?'"

What a hypocrite.

Hillary needs to steal the show at the Convention.

I'm voting for McCain.

You'd think the Obama people would be less arrogant and more gracious condidering they can't win without her supporters.

@21 - um, have you been paying attention to what the Clinton supporters have been doing?

The whole Hillary supporter thing is a bunch of crap: A handful of dried-up old hags makes some noise, and we're all supposed to burst into tears. Typical baby boomer nonsense. Their fat old broad didn't get the nomination, so they're knocking over the checker board and throwing a tantrum.

Well, nobody's listening anymore, ladies. So pack up your pantsuits and your Joni Mitchell albums and shuffle off to the assisted living facility, or wherever it is old people go when no one wants to see or hear them anymore. You may have been hot when you were being all angry in your 20's, but you're just a bunch of shrill old biddies now.

Oh yeah, did I mention you're behaving just like your mothers?
