Doesn't seem like there is a whole hell of a lot to, well skate there for all of the square footage. With all of the money put aside for this, they should have covered the bastard.

The coolest skate park is on Kent East Hill...not only is it built with the classic feel of a city neighborhood park (complete with that little brown brick hut in the middle) but it's on the corner of an assisted living community! That's right, Sk8rs meet SSS-SSS-NNNers!

The glass section of quarterpipe is cool, I guess, but the rest looks like the landscaping for a local bank, not a skate park.

I predict that within a month of opening, there will be complaints from locals that the skaters are tearing around their "park". In other words, the public will take it over and the skaters will be pushed to the suburbs. Again.

Looks like a nice art project but a pretty lame park in my opinion. And WTF is up with an admission booth? Is this a pay to play park, I'll stick to Lower Woodland and Ballard if I'm in the area...

Admission, for that? That is just going to make this place even more of a baby-sitting park. I hoped that it would lure away some of the kids from the Woodland street section but, damn.

It isn't even a decent "skate plaza" or, street style park.

Go far, get a car. That or, bus it to Woodland or Ballard.

Chalk up one more skateboarder who thinks this place looks fucking lame. This isn't even going to satisfy the street kids. A three stair and a few ledges is hardly a skatepark.

Again another disaster hits Seattle.

This model does not address the issues that plague proper skatetrack design. There isn't a roof, proper lighting, bathrooms, water fountains or timeless features that will challenge even the most jaded skateboard enthusiast.

The SPAC, in my opinion is just a placebo prescribed by the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation. The City has wasted resources, our time and taxpayers' money by thinking that this concept would satisfy the preferences of what a skateboarder would like to ride.

For the record, the Pearl Jam $$ was demolished when SeaSk8 was taken away. James Crabtree must be rolling in his grave knowing that ALL the hard work and personal time he took to create that place was destroyed at the drop of a hat to make way for some other structure.
