Ah, Love!

posted by on August 15 at 10:39 AM

The AP:

A Poulsbo woman was jailed after being accused of beating up her fiance at their prenuptial party.

Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies say 31-year-old Amber Barnes’ 12-year-old son told her he saw her fiance kissing one of her women friends early Thursday morning.

Deputies say Barnes gave her friends the boot, told her fiance to leave, too, and then started hitting him in the face.

I’m thinking police might want to check with that 12 year-old. Was he pleased about his new step-dad-to-be? Was he the only witness to the alleged kissing of-one of mom’s friends? Hm…

Kitsap finally gets a mention here, and it's for this? I had resigned myself to the fact that The Stranger believes their readership ends at the ferry dock, but this is news? Ugh...

Was the party held in Ms Barnes's double-wide?

I can see this as more of a Japanese movie, where each participant has a different view on things, and only the ghost of the Kitsap Passenger Ferry knows what the truth is.

Damn. Why didn't I do that to my stepmother? It would've saved me years of grief.

Yay, my hometown in the news!

And @1, are you forgetting the beard and moustache competition which was slogged about last month?

@5, my point exactly. It's like were the Arkansas of Puget sound around here. With the "big dig" overbudget and poorly planned and constructed, the county taxpayers on the hook for empty Harborside condos, a resurgent self built art and music scene in Charleston, and a rebellious Bremerton city councilman questioning a Stalinesque mayor, you would think the Stranger might find some real news to report on...if they gave a shit about Kitsap, which they do not.

I forgot to mention, there are 3 places carrying The Stranger within 1 block on Callow in Bremerton. You would think they would even consider listing our events we have sent in?

No room. Pathetic. I sent events at least monthly for 3 years, they posted one. I quit sending to The Stranger, because Bremerton and Kitsap either does not count as a demographic or is not "Hip" enough to include in their pages.
