A Salute from the Generals

A retired Air Force General, flanked by what looks like two dozen other generals, is now speaking. Message: Military types support Obama too.

And I am not kidding here (although maybe I misheard), but I could swear one of these guys was introduced as General Fig Newton.

fig's his call sign as well as a h.s. nickname.

he was the first african american pilot to be a thunderbird.

saw action in vietnam.

and is one of the rare african american soldiers/airmen to reach four stars.

also, he actually no longer holds command, retired in 2000.

it's illegal for military officers to take voice political affiliations. all the brass on stage are retired, most of the have been for years...
