The dog must have provoked it's killer. The person who drowned that dog is soooo gentle and loving and caring and great around kids. I just can't understand why they would have done this, they've never hurt a dog before...

I immediately thought the same thing when I saw the story on tv last night...

Spaying and neutering would have prevented this unwanted dog from being born, as well as reducing the chances that its parents would bite somebody. Win. Win.

And spaying and neutering saves taxpayer money. Win. Win. Win.

this makes me think of a grand scheme; kill animals and then supply information on their deaths while framing someone else for the crime.

Perhaps a guilty conscience explains Mr Savage being up all night, making Slog posts at ~4AM, the last few days.

Wait, so hunting is a Class C Felony in Washington? Good to know...

Sounds like the beginning scenes of a bad (and they are all bad) Law & Order (or in the future L&O: Animal Unit) episode (something for insomniacs to watch): A famously sassy columnist with a disdain for Pit Bulls, a beloved Pit Bull found dead in the water…

I don't care what kind of animal it was, or what breed. What a terrifying way to die.
Yes Yes, I know, another terrifying way to die would be to have your face ripped off by a Pit Bull, blablablablablaaaaaaa.

Pitbull kills man, there's no story there. Man kills pitbull -- now there's a story.

A guilty conscience needs to confess.

@9...are you FREAKING KIDDING ME? We see hundreds of stories ripped directly from the newspapers about Pit Bills killing/maiming humans all the time...RIGHT HERE.

Some call the cops... Pit Bull hating Dan Savage might have committed this crime!

Is there anything more cruel on the face of the earth than humans?

Accused pit bull murderer Dan Savage is entitled to a presumption of innocence until his trial and conviction, @14!

I blame Amanda Knox.

And no, I don't feel like letting it go.

At least it wasn't a pit bull.

The Pit Bull offended Natlie Merchant (which is probably pretty easy) and she drowned it with hippie-PETA hands.

@15: I think the only creature on earth more cruel than the human race is the pit bull terrier.

20: You might want to rethink that statement considering that the human race specifically bred pit bulls to be so fiercely aggressive in the first place. They didn't evolve that way on their own. Dogs have always been a loyal companion to mankind, and mankind is pretty fucking shitty at its lowest.

The dog made a squeaking noise and frightened the home made anchor.

Case closed.

Is this why Amy Kate was fired? Because she raises fighting pit bulls, and you're a well-known dog murdererer? It all makes sense to me now.

@21 evolved on their own to be like that? they were intelligently designed to be vicious.
