When you can buy self worth for $300, it makes (pathetic) sense #4.

They'll get in line again for something else when their fulfillment wanes over the next 36 hours.

I'm with willnot. It's just an f'n phone. My l'il ol' Samsung, which was free from T-Mobile works like a charm.

As for the iPhone, what's with the hating? So, people stand in line, which some of them actually enjoy, to buy something that they can afford and that they like. I'm not buying a new iPhone, but I use my 1.0 version every day. I don't regret it for a second.

Or is the idea of people actually making choices for themselves with no regard to your opinion upsetting to you?

Anyway, I'd head to an Apple store over an AT&T store. If I were Steve Jobs, I'd make sure that they had more in stock.

iPhones are cool, but I don't plan on getting one unless they change their carrier policy. Forcing people to change carriers is ridiculous, imho.

My iPhone is my third favorite thing after my husband and my dog. I call it my boyfriend and I adore it and totally understand why people are drooling in anticipation for the new one.

Gotta love AT&T, for their sheer hatred for and fleecing of their customers.

The orders will not be sent your home, only to the store where you'll have to wait in line *again* to activate the damn thing. Why not let you activate it at home? You might deny them a teeny bit of revenue.

Nor does pre-ordering today put you at the top of the list. Instead, it puts you at the back. Why not? You've already been snookered. The new shipment tomorrow is for people not yet snared into a two year contract. Ten days is probably optimistic.

And they gleefully cooperated with the NSA.

Fnarf...creating excitement through scarcity only works on a product whose appeal is in question. That's never been true of the iPhone.
