Good thing he's not a Fundie, cause then someone would have Jesus the stick figure parachute in and use his dagger ...

I did give him $8.

Tomorrow, I'm going to check out some other, local candidates and give them $8. Maybe Darcy Burner. I hope I don't end up on the democratic party mailing and phone lists, getting pestered for money at home every night.

I just gave him 10 bucks.
People like this need encouragement.

If I lived in Kansas, I'd give him a lot more, I've given much more to Darcy Burner.

No, if I lived in Kansas, I'd get the fuck out.

I gave him $25.

This just reminds me how shitty the standard Democratic fundraising efforts are- the endless boring email pleas for money from Charlie Rangel, or James Carville, or Nancy Pelosi that arrive daily. Ughghghghgh...

They've exceeded their goal of 3,000 donors and have added a short update comic.  I don't see an indication of the total money raised, though.

Also, what Sven @11 said.

I threw a few bucks at him. Darcy as well. It gives me hope for my own eventual run for local office in 15 years.

It would amuse me if Mr. Tevis turned out to be a neo-Nazi or some similar lovely thing.

Wow, he really surpassed his goal. At this rate he's going to outraise not only his competitor, but probably everyone else running for the Kansas State House or Senate. And not for just this election cycle, but probably for all the past ones and quite a few future ones.

It also seems to me like him and his family are putting their money where their collective mouths are, since he needed to raise $26k but $8.34 times 3,000 donors only equals about $25k. This makes me think that he must've scrounged up that other thousand.

Good for him though, hopefully he's able to enact some decent legislation in Kansas.

He said in the comic that he knew two people who'd donate $500 each, so the math works. Not sure how he decided $26K was the magic figure, though.

I'm shocked how straightforward this guy is. He originally had an awful position on illegal immigration, but he got enough comments, and is now rethinking his position because he admits he didn't think about it much before.

I just donated $8.34 -- I've never donated to a politician before.
