Uncle Ted Indicted

posted by on July 29 at 10:05 AM

Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, known affectionately as “Uncle Ted” for his habit of keeping the people of Alaska flush with pork-barrel gifts, will be facing seven criminal counts stemming from a federal corruption investigation.

(Cue triumphant cheer from Maria Cantwell?)

Glad I got out of AK before the pork stopped coming.

This is good news. Stevens is one of the worst Senators, possibly the worst, and Alaska has been a cesspool of corrupt politics.

Good. Horrible news for GOP in Alaska on down the whole ticket.

At present Begich, the D candidate to take Stevens out, is ahead by about 8 points.
Looking good for him now.

And McCain ahead of Obama in Alaska by about 6 points. Obama is going to go to Hawaii he says. He should add on Alaska, dominate news coverage in all 50 states just becaue of novelty of this, visit soldiers somewhere, have huge rally in Anchorage and put state into play.

Underscores 50 state theme and fascinates media. And photo shot in beautiful ANWR.

Gotta love my homestate- out of the CREW list of 22 most corrupt lawmakers, every AK representative made the cut.

So one down, two to go.

Hooray! It's about time! Hopefully Rep. Young will get indicted too.
