You guys realize that Mulder and Scully are totally going to make out in the new X-Files movie, right? OK, just checking.

They are like 5 years late on this.

I have pretty much been waiting for this since I was 13!

Although the other day as I was reading about this movie I was kind of glad it never happened, way too often TV writers have to hook up the main characters. I liked it that they were just friends and colleagues. Scully would sometimes go on dates and even more rarely Mulder would have some girl be interested in him. I loved it in the first season Mulder had a porn magazine and told Skully that the girl in it had claimed to have been abducted by aliens.

I kind of wish they wouldn't hook them up now.

If they'd made out during the series, say in 1994, that'd have been totally hot.

Now, it'll be a bit like watching your parents make out. Just best not to go there.

X Files: I want to believe.... it will be good.

But we all know it is gonna suck. This is just more confirmation.

OK, who's bringing the alien DNA?

Annie Wagner, I have immensely enjoyed your intelligent, articulate, and tireless political advocacy all this year, and I was impressed when I got to see you speak briefly at the district caucus.

All this while putting out the SIFF guide, writing excellent reviews, and keeping well on top of all things film in Seattle in general.  You are one of the best things I've seen happen to The Stranger.

Why, oh why, would you put such a spoiler on the Slog front page, without even any warning cushion?

I don't like you anymore.

And your mom wears faux-rugged fashion-victim Timberland boots.

Didn't they make out on several occasions? It was certainly implied.

i thought mulder was supposedly the father of scully's baby or something. i thought we were to believe that they had been hooking up for a long time but keeping it quiet. i didn't pay much attention to the last three or four seasons though.

The last time I cared about the X-Files was in 2000.

@6: Thanks, I'm surprised you didn't note my mom's sweatpants, and it's not a spoiler if it's the only reason anyone would see the movie. (See quotes from the movie bigshots in the LA Times, the New York Times, some London papers, and hundreds of movie blogs.)

@8 & 9: Chaste little kisses, no making out. Scully's alien baby may be Mulder's, but there was no actual sex involved, only alien intervention.

Did everybody really like this show? I thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen on television. Am I that out of it?

Fnarf @12:

Did everybody really like this show?
Yes.
I thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever seen on television.
You're right (hyperbole aside), but what does this have to do with your question?

lostboy @13:

To answer your question (and stating the obvious)fnarf likes to point out that his tastes are more refined than yours (or anybody's).

elm @14, really?  fnarf is certainly opinionated about his tastes, but I've never seen him be snobby about it.

refined taste != snobbery != good taste

And each one can and does occur without the others.

I'm not a snob; I love trash ("Anna Nicole Show", anyone?). I just never got "X-Files". If anything, I've always thought "X-Files" was bad precisely because it aspired to be good -- IT was pretentious, not me.

@16 I loved that show. OR at least the first few seasons. It was creepy and chilling, thought provoking, and very real.
