I so wish I could afford those ticket prices.
I hear you @1, I almost had a heart-attack when I had to pay $50 for the B-52s at the freaking Showbox already. $175 for a one-night show just seems, well, like a helluva lot to pay, especially if one is forced to sit through schtick by Rosie O.
Although I must say, Kate & Cindy are still SMOKIN' hot - and in my age demographic!
"I'm Lucky" is one of the greatest songs ever.
I remember once getting in a disagreement with the district manager at the record store where I worked. He said *all* music by black artists was to be placed in "r&b" (this was before rap). I said "what about Joan Armatrading?" That shut him up.
Fifty dollars?
That's a lot of $2 drinks at SLOG Happy ...
Kate and Cindy are fun to see in person tho.
i've actually got an extra ticket to this show - 13th row, in section "d" - i paid $153 per ticket including all the ticketbastard fees, but am willing to accept offers (including partial cash/partial trade, barter, etc...) - there are 25 or more listings on craigslist right now (including mine) and nobody's so much as responded as of yet.
so if'n you're interested, drop me a note. the screen name at gmail.
You can also see Cyndi on As the World Turns this Thursday at 1pm as she tries to get those crazy kids Luke and Noah back together.
I *heart* Cyndi Lauper. "True Colors" makes me cry.
