This is pretty much exactly the strength and location of this one.

It's central to L.A., Orange County, and the inland empire.. hence everyone down there feeling it.

I suspect and hope that there weren't minimal injuries.

This is like five miles from where I grew up. In fact, I remember being in my 8th grade classroom for the Whittier Narrows quake... bouncy!

God's wrath is sort of scrode-y. There isn't any damage around here in Hollywood and all it did here was wake up some of my house guests. I guess divine punishment isn't what it used to be.

We're here and it doesn't seem to be much more than a old C-ticket at Dizzyland. Mild compared to some of our others.

I'll take these anyday over hurricanes in the Bible Belt.

leek @14, it's not far from where I grew up in Riverside & Corona, either. Nowhere near Whittier, though, so I'm not sure mackro mackro @8's on about.

In any event, I wouldn't get too worked up about a 5.4.
