What the fuck is a "Man Card"? I hate people.

It's too bad that this thing probably wierded out a lot of people who have no frame of reference for who "transgendered" people are

Kevin Kane is the kinda guy who's so wrapped up in being a "man" and what defines "manhood" that he doesn't even know how to be a human being.

This is why I'm not friends with anyone raising a child. That and my hatred of all things tiny, I mean.

And by "thing" I mean the person, not the situation

@1: I second that emotion.

He offered to stop the article if any childless man is excited about a minivan. I kept yelling at the computer screen, but the article wouldn't stop. I love my van. It hauls drums and drunk friends.

I wonder what Kevin Kane keeps in his closet. Definitely a fear of losing his masculinity - his hyper-masculine posturing is hiding something.

I've always thought that having a baby was the ultimate proof of non-manhood too!

It's a woman with a dirt-stash that got knocked up. Sorry, total non-story.

Just about every news outlet has been pushing this as some big "OMG it's the crazy future now!" story, even my conservative parents shrugged at it.

Let Kevin Kane's voice ring triumphant, from Beech Grove all the way to White River Twp.!

The second link is dumb, dumb, dumb. Being a man means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Apparently for this guy, being a man means not having children or a minivan, or doing any of that icky caring-for-offspring crap. Too bad for him.

I think it's time for Paul Constant to revisit his "what is a man?" article -- minivan edition!

This is news for Morons. How can anyone think this is a story? The fact that the media is covering this makes us look even more ignorant to the rest of the world.

what i posted to his article:

you are a douche of massive proportions, and your posting privileges should be revoked. i hope you and "your kind" die off ASAP, and i doubt that will be much of a problem, since most women wouldn't want to reproduce with such an ignorant dolt anyways. Inevitably, natural selection will take it's course and ensure your genetic expiration.

you probably live a miserable and unfulfilled life and i hope that brings you loneliness and dissatisfaction for years to come. as you watch your friends progress and evolve into caring and selfless individuals, you will become increasingly isolated with only your stupidity to blame.

enjoy being a thirteen year old pig forever. don't forget, there will always be game consoles and cheap beer to keep you company.

@17: Uncalled for. Don't you realize that Kevin Kane is destined to live and to die one day in Beech Grove, Ind.? Have a heart and realize that no damage you may wish to inflict likely hurts more than reality, Man Cards or no Man Cards.

Wonder what the La Leche League thinks of this? would it have killed HER to have the baby before SHE had HER breasts cut off?

The piece on the "man card" was written by a boy, not a man. Maybe he'll grow up or maybe we'll all catch a break and he won't reproduce. Unfortunately, there probably is a woman out there who will procreate with him -- pity the child.

Why all the outrage over a little boy writing a humour piece on how his friends who have kids don't turn out to be the hypermasculine shittards they thought the wanted to be.
boo hiss!

"...as you watch your friends progress and evolve into caring and selfless individuals"

Excuse me? You actually think that those vapid twits you see lugging babies around are automatically "caring and selfless individuals"? Certainly some of them are, but the majority are just people who either got into that situation by carelessness or because it was expected of them.

Even this supposedly enlightened generation of parents are the same as they ever were - just a lot more self-congratulatory about it.

@22- ooh bitter.

You are wrong to assume that whether a parent is caring or selfless depends on if the child was planned. Parents have to think of and care for someone other than themselves (their kid) a hell of a lot if they want the child to survive.

I am a proud accident. Down with family planning!

@1, Our mission statement is to give every man in the world their Authentic Man Card. If you can't have fun in life why are we here, you know?

Ya, sorry, I call "bullshit"....typical media hype about nothing. When the law declared she was a man, did it also give her a Y chromosome? I really don't care what label she choses to identify with, but the law cannot change facts. Choping your mammaries or penis off and taking hormones does not change your gender. XX = woman, XY = man, end of story.
