NWCN weekend news had a story this morning on those awful, awful "homophobic" NIKE ads and to illustrate the "controversy, they put up Slog commenters on screen. So embarrassing.
You should have said up front that the Mexican immigrant story took place in Pennsylvania. As tragic as it is, there are more important, and local stories, to make The Morning News.

But INTENTIONAL supply reduction, deliberate closing of refineries, which IS the actual cause of lack of refinery capacity and therefore the cause of rising gasoline and diesel prices is not even under consideration here. The good magician directs attention away from WHERE the "magical" slight-of-hand is actually taking place.
As does some "independent" media. (one more oxymoron for your lexicon)
In government, seniority rules will prevent most new ideas from being implemented in any meaningful way by new Senators, Representatives. Written letters to any in government carry more weight than e mail petitions.
