Tony Snow dead? Sounds like a good start. No one shed tears for Goebbels either.

I think Rupert Murdoch had Tony Snow assassinated because NBC had a week to mourn Tim Russert's death and Murdoch was jealous of their ratings.

Jesse Helms has a new roommate down there.

The Hendrixes should be Exhibit A whenever Disney or somebody sets about rewriting copyright law to extend it another thousand years or whatever. Copyright should be a flat 50 years or author's death, period.

Is there no plural apostrophe anymore (Hendrix's)?

Oh as to Zimbabwe--please note that global capitalism once again is responsbile for Africa's woes, and for what Mugabe does, as those paragons of global capitalism, Russia and China, were the ones who vetoed UN action against Mugabe.

God damn that that Eurocentric global capitalism once again!

And if only Amerika weren't so evil all the time. God damn Amerika.

Does anyone think WaMu is going down? Would I be better off switching to cash under the mattress? I also wonder if switching to a credit union might be a good idea....

@8

Hey PC, I want to remind you how annoying it is that you continue to ignore questions about your past behavior. Why don't you come clean?

Wamu will only go down if their customers act like fools and make a run on the bank like IndyMac's customers did.

@10: Why do you talk as if Susan isn't still pushing her nonsense at NoQuarter? It's not past behavior, it's *present* behavior.

A run on a bank, in the age of the FDIC? How quaint.

I doubt whether @2, @3, or @4 ever listened to more than 15 seconds of Tony. It's sad that these moron sloggers don't take any delight in reading or listening to viewpoints that are adversarial to their own. Why not take fun in that. No, it’s automatic knee jerk hate and condemnation.

Com’on on, is a guy who plays with Jethro Tull raising money for Cancer research all that bad? No, it’s because he’s Bush’s former press secretary that soiled him forever as far as the mainstream media is concerned. But he returned to television, and was even better in radio. Are you all so afraid of allowing his not-all-that-right-wing opinions into your lives because you’re afraid it will give you hemorrhoids?

Well, if it does give me hemorrhoids, will you apologize for being so dismissive of my fears?

Sorry about Debakey, it's so sad when God takes them so young.

@14

Perhaps it would be different if any of the Bushies had been held accountable for what they did. Can't really give them credit for any good deeds until they pay their debt to society for their crimes.

Snow escaped punishment, and his death makes me sad for that reason.

I was starting to wonder whether "I have cancer" had become the new "rehab." Sadly, Tony Snow had to die to refute my hypothesis.

@2-4: You are tasteless and retarded. Do you really hate Bush so much that you will CELEBRATE the death of his PRESS SECRETARY???
Do you realize how STUPID you sound when you say things like that? You need to stop reading Daily Kos, get some sun on your pasty white skin by climbing out of Mom's basement, and head outside to observe functional, social, and employed people. And stop letting politics run your life. Oh yeah, try smiling. I bet you haven't done that since...well never...

In all seriousness, Tony Snow was actually a pretty likeable and listenable guy on radio. I'm no Republican, but he was one I could respect. I wish there were more positive and hapy people in politics and the media. We need more like Tony Snow, and he will be missed.

Rest in peace, Tony Snow.

Jesus, Frank, at least if you were a Republican you'd have an excuse.

In their nefarious scheme of things, Tony Snow--while he was a much smoother liar and shameless propagandist than McClellanbot 2000--was basically irrelevant. They found a new cipher/mouthpiece soon enough.

Now when one of the core members of the Evil Republican Crime Plexus kicks off--like the undead reanimated corpse of Dick Cheney--then there will be a worldwide celebration.

@20, @2 compared Snow to Goebbels.

That's retarded.

The Bushies have committed crimes, and Snow was their mouthpiece. That doesn't make Snow evil. And to suggest that Snow is going to join Jesse Helms in hell as @4 did is also retarded.

Seriously people, there is life beyond Red/Black books. It starts with THINKING.

Bathing wouldn't hurt either...

Why Frank? Is it retarded because it's retarded? Sounds like the idea gets you agitated and you have no idea how to respond, so you call it retarded.

Snow was not just a mouthpiece. Some respected him, and thought he was credible. He lent that credibility and respect to evil men. That makes him evil too. So a bad thing happened to a bad man and that makes some people happy.

Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable to think about.

WOW! Someone actually read my post @4 and got so P.O.ed that they called me a moron, tasteless, retarded and unhygienic! Maybe my post will go down in history as the most famous eight word sentence since Bush's assertion that Saddam Hussein was obtaining a-bomb materials from Niger. Cool!

Thanks, elenchos, for fighting the good fight while I was away from Slog-land exposing my pasty white skin (that part I won't deny) to the sun this weekend. Any news yet? Let us know when the blessed event happens. My best to you and your wife.
