The absolute worst one can say about Rev. Jackson these days is that he is irrelevant. He has a bruised ego because of Sen. Obama's popularity. And, he is part of the problem Sen. Obama speaks about regarding absent fathers in the African-American community (Jackson sired a child out-of-wedlock about six years ago). At one time, I had some admiration for him. Not any more.

Jesse Jackson and Bill Clinton are pouty, frustrated Baby Boomers (emphasis on the Baby bit). They can't deal with the fact that its no longer all. about. them. Their generation took the national spotlight early and have basked in it ever since....they are not adjusting well to having the focus shift to a new guard.

what makes jesse a complete hypocrite on this issue is of course the fact that he was part of the campaign against rappers for using the N word. he was all over the tube looking like al gore�s silly wife, ranting about the nihilism in rap music and the use of the n word.

frankly, he cant seem to contain his disdain for senator obama and his jealousy is showing. he needs to exit as soon as possible, i mean his own son , will not have anything to do with him.

@12, certainly if he did so in a speech it would be an issue, no doubt, but remember this was thought to be a private conversation so I judge Jackson in that context. AfAm people calling each other nigg*r in private, gays calling each other fag in private...not the end of the world IMO.

@13, I hear you. I don't use it too often, but lots of other gay people seem to be comfortable with it so I don't get in a twist when I get called a fag by a gay person.
