It's interesting to see how much more conciliatory Israel has been with others as the threat from Iran has ratcheted up.
I feel a haggling joke comin'.
Trading live prisoners for dead bodies. Hm.
Nope, don't think I'd have done that.
I feel a haggling joke comin'.
You So funny. Wow.
I'm surprised that Israel didn't just shoot the five prisoners and then hand over the (still warm) bodies. That seems like it would have been more their style.
There is no way this thread can go but ugly.
@3: It wasn't clear that the Israeli soldiers were dead until their coffins were seen en route to the site.
From The Telegraph:
Until their black coffins were seen crossing the Naqura border crossing from Lebanon to Israel this morning, there was no confirmation that the soldiers were dead although there had been rumours that one was killed as he was seized.
The Lebanese prisoners will be returned later today when the remains in the coffins have been positively identified as those of the soldiers, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
Mr Goldwasser's family broke down in tears and cries of despair as they saw the televised images of Hizbollah handing over the two caskets.
