I hereby resolve to work the phrase "perky cherry" into as many conversations as possible. Cover your children's ears.
Goddammit, I would PAY for more posts like this. This is the kind of thoughtful and incisive art criticism I have been begging Jen to bring forth for months.
MORE!!! GIVE ME MORE!!!
Speaking of whimsy, I like the bonus first-paragraph critique of Dan.
Who is it trying to tempt? Lowly Worm?
The server is robust, clearly. My comments are disappearing.
Anyway, this will be a fun week.
what does lilliputianization mean?
I love love love love love love love BRITTO.
I have quite a few prints in my tiny SF apartment.
Dee in SF, are you by chance a 13 year old girl? Because that looks like the intended audience of this silly sculpture.
That was hilarious Jen, thanks for the laugh.
dp is on probation, clearly @10 was meant for @8.
@2,
That's the most demanding thing I've ever read.

I don't think it's a perky cherry. It's a jaunty apple on top of the snake from the Garden of Eden. That's where the "temptation" part comes in.
This looks like art Fnarf would love. Highly competent finishes, none of that gloppy glazing he despises so.
This guy Britto is huge, just ask him. "A modern day pop culture icon, Romero Britto is one of the premiere artists of our time," says his website. "His original artwork, dubbed the art of healing..." etc. I got a glossy packet in the mail some weeks ago. He did the costumes for the preshow for a Super Bowl, or something. Most pictures of his work had him posed with it, which is the sign of a great artist.
Glad to see you know my tastes so well, Eric F. Alas, you're mistaken; I don't like this one tiny little bit. Highly competent finishes? I don't think so.
I like the knowing look in the EarthwormSnake's eye, "c'mere big boy and pop my cherry, I dare ya."
Earthworm? when was the last time you saw an earthworm with bedroom eyes? (or any eyes at all)
Mona Cat kawaii!!
I would have linked to Britto's site, but it is one of those lame Flash sites.
Um, maybe would have been better than a second
