The setting was all craggy peaks and pastel desert colors, and the town itself looked like nothing much had changed since Kennedy was shot. The place made me think of lemonade stands and sun-warmed bicycle seats and the glorious feeling of running through a sprinkler on a hot day. But then again, I think Baker City (Oregon) is one of most charming places on earth, so I recognize that my standards for civic appeal are a bit strange.
