No News Media Sites with Much Credibility Are Reporting It…

posted by on July 11 at 15:00 PM

…but according to Gaywired.com (citing PerezHilton.com):

Alabama Attorney General Troy King, a conservative Republican Christian who has called homosexuality the ‘downfall of society,’ has been caught with his pants down—literally—in a gay sex scandal. King was reportedly nabbed having sex with a male assistant by his wife, Paige King, in the couple’s own bed.

This could be a hoax. It’s been hours since this hit the web and none of the newspapers in Alabama have anything. Then again, King’s record, ethics-wise, isn’t spotless. And, you know, he’s a Republican.

What the hell are you talking about? Didn't Ken Layne cover this already? On Wonkette? Yesterday?

Please note that referring to a GOP sitting representative and "a politician who rails against homosexuals but is one" is unnecessary attribution.

Unless otherwise stated, please assume all such in-the-closet persons are in fact elected GOP officials who speak publicly against the "evils" of their own true sexual orientation.

You don't need to repeat yourself.

No, but it'll be all the talk at cocktail parties this weekend and someone will say, "OH MY GOD, Mark, you're at NBC, have you heard anything about the gay-hating Alabama AG caught nailing his mail aide by his wife who then kicked him out of the house?"

If there's anything to it it'll be in the news next week. Sometimes these things have to percolate.

@5 I might take that job if it would pay way more than it's worth.

@6, "nailing his mail aide" -- surely the National Association of Letter Carriers will have something to say about this, too?

I loved this guy when I was in Birmingham. He was my fave. I thought that Locust Fork's newspaper was covering it, I kind of assumed they were credible-ish.

Consider the lack of coverage with this in mind: All four major Alabama papers are owned by the same people, and they all published the Birmingham News endorsement of Troy King.
