who is this 'we' that is charged with guaranteeing taste? is there a difference between the homosexuals, queers, and lesbians? are they referring to taste in style as in fashion, or taste as in actual food flavor? it's amazing...

Brent actually it's not photoshopped. As the gf of Brian I can tell you that is 100% the real deal. You have to visit North Louisiana and the Ark La Tex area to fully appreciate the folks who call it home. The peaches were amazing, but his Indian Tomatoes were some of the best damn tomatoes I've ever had.

I suspect it's deliberately ironic, and the joke is on self-righteously bigoted northern hipsters who can't fathom the possibility that anyone in Louisiana is anything but dumb as dirt.

I also suspect some local alt-weekly knkows the story behind the story, and may enjoy a "Waiting for Sluggo" laugh at Stranger's expense.
