I like this "column".
this whole drilling BS is worse than the stupid gas tax holiday (which stupid HRC supported)
"Based on Energy Information Administration (EIA) projections of the effect of ANWR on crude oil prices, we estimate that opening up ANWR will reduce gasoline prices by just one cent, starting in 2018."
Now look how much gas prices have risen under the Bush presidency.
NPR played that McCain ad this morning as part of their news segment. It's really obnoxious.
i like the methodical approach to examining political arguments, i wish the media in general would take this method.
John McCain doesn't even HAVE an energy policy. He's even behind most Republicans on the issue; the thoroughtly R legislature in Texas just approved a massive multi-billion dollar wind project.
@5 - exactly, he's not even stuck in the 20th century, McSame is stuck in the 19th century.
America has moved on.
@5:
Texas is also reviving its previously shelved plans for high-speed rail in the "Texas T-Bone," connecting Houston to both San Antonio and Dallas with a junction near a fourth station in Austin.
In California, Schwarzenegger is a high-speed rail supporter this year after previously dragging his heels.
There is a reality-based element in the Republican Party; McCain's just not part of it.
Ask the drill-happy how much of the added U.S. domestic production from the continental shelf would be kept off the world market and used solely for domestic purposes? It may still be quoted in dollars by the barrel, but since when does the U.S. set the global price for petroleum?
Forget McCains decades in the Senate spent destroying this country with his Republican friends.
We won't support ball-less NO-Bama and will re-defeat him in November!!!
Wish we could get terrorist-funds-cutting high-speed passenger and freight rail here along the I-5 corridor from Vancouver BC to San Diego CA ...
But that would be ... prudent.
