Thanks, Mark Mitchell. Not only for some interesting and amusing posts, but also for raising the bar for future guest sloggers.

Here’s my imaginary mother-in-law, glamorous descendant of the original 19th-century robber baron, whose book on collage is in a word, riveting.

LMFAO. Farewell, IMM, and thanks for the laughs.

This post was a bit Gay-Charles-Mudede, except I was able to comprehend and enjoy it. I will miss you It's Mark Mitchell! Fantastic video offering. Dost thou blog elsewhere?

keep your hands off MY fantasy husband, you bitch!!

(actually, I'll miss your posts...YOU should have been the first Guest Slogger, not the monster formerly known as CAB)

You did what you had to do.

Won't forget, can't regret what you did for SLOG.

IMM, I don't know you, but I love you. While your posts may have been less frequent than any of us would have wanted, they were always quality, always brought a laugh and even a sense of "wish I'd said that." And this on brought GV's eye make-up! Psych!

You are the picture of the perfect Slogazoid, sir.

And between us, being the scion of a 19th Century fortune that has (generally speaking) dissipated across the many family tree branches ain't all it's cracked up to be. Trust me on this one.

Come back soon, and don't be a...ummm...Stranger.

is that clip from 'who killed teddy bear'? did martin scorsese see this film before he made 'mean streets' and was he influenced by it?

Man, Gloria V was a hottie when she was young. Those eyebrows, those lips, that collar. THAT FLIP. If you let me join you on that verandah I promise to look the other way and not say anything, after rummaging around in the family collection of rare Cognacs. I'll be in my cups by sundown.

I really liked M.M. posts also. Although I don't really forgive him for being so mean and drugged out in the 1990's.

Does everyone who used to date Dan Savage get to be a guest slogger?

This hurts worse than when Bradley Steinbacher died.

@18, he posted my bus riding memoir and I didn't even have to shrimp him.

@18 You're obviously referring to That Mark Mitchell. It's a new century. Let's let it go.

@Everyone else -- thanks for all the kind words. I'd love to be able to post once a week or so, and am campaigning for that. Write your favorite editor.

And yes, I was pretty mean and drugged out for a decent portion of the 1990's, but I promise I hurt myself way more than I hurt anyone else, so I've been, you know, punished.

(and Savage and I never dated. We were roommates for a time.)

Sorry Mark.
That was jerky of me. You are a gem. (But I am pretty sure you told me you were Savage's BF).
Bygones etc...
