That was just me wacking my pud, sorry.
This is bad news if, and IF is a Big One, there are large richter scale anomilies in the death toll... god forbid there are fatality-ease.
Felt it here in San Diego about 10 minutes ago. Pretty strong, must have been much worse in L.A.....
Looks like it's similar in strength and location to the Whittier earthquake in 1987.
5.8 on the richter scale
San Diego Union Tribune says the epicenter was "5 miles southeast of Diamond Bar, north of San Diego."
My boss was talking to someone in LA when it went off, and now one of my officemates is watching the web, commenting when another aftershock goes off...
Earthquakes scare me.
I'm about 7 miles away from the epicenter, Chino. It wasn't that bad :) Loooooong, but not that bad. We've had 3 aftershocks so far.
felt it in Esco.. Oh my! My first one since moving here from NY. It was kind of short, but kinda scary. I'm ready to go! :>

What does this have to do with Natalie Merchant or Amanda Knox?
@12 - I hear Natalie Merchant performed there.
Amanda Knox WISHES she were there...
I don't know this person, but... wow.
who wants to take bets that the evangelicals are going to start blaming gay marriage for the earthquake?
It was a total bullshit Earthquake. Why are people wasting oxygen by talking about it? Yes, it was 5.8, but nobody lives on top of it. It was way up on one of the ridges that separates LA from Riverside.
So basically, the windows rattled a little, and everyone starts yak-yak-yakking like there was star cooch on display out on the Boulevard.
Maybe no one's house is directly above the epicenter, but that "ridge" (which is really a tiny little foothill) is like five miles from shit-tons of suburbia (including my mom's house). That said, yeah, looks like no damage done.
Most of the people there didn't really pay much attention to it, actually.
@17: I totally agree. I'm in Claremont, and was at a *$ when it hit--brief, weird, no one even spilled a drink.
