Because, like the rest of America, she obviously feels that a sense of security is much more important than silly things like freedom.

The fence reminds me of a recent to-do in Baltimore. Some art school student decided to fence in a park in the Mount Vernon neighborhood right as spring arrived. People were PISSED. Needless to say, the fence came down sooner than planned. . .

why are there people inside the fence? or is it one of those useless fences that doesn't keep people out but makes them walk around?

Oh, for fuck sakes...it's so they can raise the statue higher so it will supposedly be harder for thugs to destroy it. Poor thing, it's been through alot lately....It's costing a fortune too, but I think alot of it is coming from concerned alki residents.

If you do, indeed, go to the West Seattle Blog you will see the good lady flying through the air as she takes a respite in an undisclosed location while a new stage is built for her to proclaim . . . whatever it is she's proclaiming these days.

I was there with tourists from Chicago yesterday and was unable to provide a proper explanation beyond "this is Seattle, I'm sure something was supposed to happen two weeks ago. Or it's because the savages in this town try to ruin everything." Now I have answers, and it is, as I suspected, savages.

Beware of the snark side. Sarcasm...hyperbole.. puns. The snark side are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the snark path, forever will it dominate your destiny! Consume you it will!

Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.

Video we shot of Flying Lady Liberty this morn before heading over to your backyard this aft to watch Nickels/Clark talk Multifamily Zoning (with a Sonics jersey looming ghost-like in a townhouse window over the mayor's podium, look for that shot in various tv news versions of that story tonite)

They've closed a section of the beach at the peak time of year for one couple's vanity project.

I'd rather have the beach.

Patriotic symbols must remain caged until after the election.

Vanity is the operative word.
