Film Good News/Bad News

onThe good news is that you can now buy a hoverboard for $30,000.
The bad news is that it’s just the hoverboard from Back to the Future II, and it doesn’t work.
For a second there, during an inattentive scan of a blog post, I completely spazzed out, thinking that hover technology has finally arrived. Now that I know it’s a movie prop, I am morose. Thanks a lot, SF Signal.

Dude, if I could buy that and actually go back in time to give it to myself as a birthday present in 1989, that would be frikkin sweet!

Lame.
Don't forget: it doesn't work over water, or anything else for that matter.
So let's have it, who thought these were real once?
Even when I was a kid, I was kinda surprised how persistent those rumors of those actually existing, and working, were. The technology didn't make a bit of sense, even when I was 14.
Now if I could just buy some invisible aluminum, I could become the Silver Surfer ...

Um...you're welcome?
Want a hoverboard?
Play UT3.
When I first glimpsed this blog post, I thought it said "Hoveround"....which is totally a different thing.
