Oh, god...Jen, are you actively trying to ruin my life?
OK, so I went to the gallery Web site and looked at the rest of the work. WTF? Is the artist making fun of Hirst, Warhol, Basquiat, etc.? Does he love them but hate the way the art market positions them? Is he jealous and obsessed? Why should I give a rat's?
I walked away feeling like I'd just seen an art world version of "The Aristocrats" only the tired old joke wasn't funny at any telling. Ever.
The only caveat I'll offer is I cannot read the writing on the "Owies" series. I love the word "owie." Maybe his writing is really funny and insightful.
Probably not, though.
Jen,
I was so looking forward to yesterday's critique of Dan's submission. Did I miss it?
