Some of your witnesses must have had one too many if they said this guy was 25 years old. This dude was at least 40 something. I was out front and this guy was around the corner yelling out all sorts of shit, with his belt in his hand ready to take on whoever was yelling at him I guess. And there's no way he got beat by a dozen people, he walked back to his car like 10 minutes later.

I work at a club as a bouncer, and when something like this happens it's nearly impossible to stop for a couple of reasons.

First, bouncers don't have any authority out on the street.

Second, a huge mob isn't going to listen to a couple of guys with flashlights.

Third, and most importantly, the cops take forever to get involved. I've witnessed and broken up fights outside my club, and seen the cops just sitting in their car waiting for the fight to resolve itself before getting involved.

It's very frustrating to try to hold back a mob and to see the local law enforcement waiting for something to sort itself out instead of helping people.

The fight took place across the street, so of course security didn't have authority there. By the time the cops came, it was already over. From what I hear, the guy deserved whatever mild-to-moderate beating he received (not everyone is an innocent victim...), and there's no way a dozen people were beating on him. This is a non-story.

Hipster on hipster violence, when will it end? These outside-the-bar beat-downs have become quite trendy, and require very little fuel, other than too much liquor, to ignite. They are so popular they are reported on websites like TMZ as entertainment. Joining a crowd to beat a single person, regardless of the supposed provocation is cowardly and vile.

So, a crowd beating a man bloody, knocking his teeth out and stripping him naked is okay? Some of you disgust me. Since when is mob justice okay? The bigger issue here is why Chop Suey let a such a large mob congregate outside the club... aren't they supposed to disperse them? I walked through that crowd with a few friends and heard people making anti-gay comments and, as they were beating the man (all 20 of them), they were yelling 'faggot'. I'm not surprised that Chop Suey is claiming innocence but I wouldn't want to patronize a club that has such blatant disregard for its patrons and the general public...
