According to new data from the city, Seattle's managed to pick up about 50 recruits and new officers since the city came to an agreement with SPOG in May 2007. Prior to that, SPD's staffing had become, according to SPOG President Rich O'Neil, "very dangerous." It looks like the city has only hired about 30 recruits/officers since the beginning of the year, so who knows if SPD will be able to make its recruitment goals for the year—I believe it's...
