It took awhile--and I still can't reach the iTunes store for the final whatever-it-is that they need to do--but I'm updated to 2.0 and I'm downloaded all my apps.

Ok, the linked article is about trouble activating new iPhone 3Gs and trouble downloading iTunes 7.7 or iPhone firmware 2.0. Serious launch SNAFU, to be sure, but I don't see anything about anyone's iPhone being bricked.

Mr. Steinbacher, care to elaborate?

Nerd pedant here; "brick" means to render the device unrecoverable so that you can never use it again. I'm sure there's a software fix or a way to get your phone running again, therefor it isn't "bricked".

@11) I downloaded the new software but now my phone keeps telling me I need to connect it to iTunes, which I can't because iTunes seems to be down (it times out before connecting). The only thing I can do is call 911.

Also, thanks for the correction @12. My phone ain't bricked, I just can't use it.

Yeah - had my 3G in-hand at the store around 8:40. The person who was to activate my phone in the store couldn't, so they told me to take it home and activate there. Now I am at home and it won't activate (and of course my old cell phone is done since they transferred the number, to my non-working iPhone).

But Amy Kate doesn't believe it is her baby because he was also sleeping with Katie Couric. After speaking out about how hot the temperature in Iraq is, CNN offered Amy Kate a lucrative job. Bradley is taking advantage of Oprah's new manadate that at least one man on her staff be pregnant. He's gotten a job at Harpo and will be covering health, beauty, and fitness trends for pregnant men. Katie Couric is still at CBS. Nobody knows why.

Alas, my iPhone is temporarily "bricked" as well. However, this is not an excuse to huff and puff and stamp my little feet. Why can't people just chill a little bit and wait a few hours? The iPhone is an incredibly popular computer and, as with all computers, subject to the occasional service outage.

I trust that Apple is working feverishly to fix the problem. So I spend a whole day without my phone - it's not going to kill me.

I would pay money for an ACTUAL brick that was hollowed out and had an iPhone in it. Working or otherwise. If it wasn't, I could pull it out of my bag and say, "fucking Apple, my iPhone is a brick now".
