Is Sweden trying to start a contest with Canada? It is so on!

Is that the same foot you put in your mouth, Dan, when you endorsed the Iraq War?

And no, I don't feel like letting it go.

sweden is totally trying to steal canada's severed-foot-on-a-beach heat.

Same sex marriage is legal in Canada. Same sex marriage is not yet legal in marriage but all seated political parties, save one, are for it. Coincidence?

Well this stinks.

Both Sweden and Canada have great health care systems and their citizens live more than a decade longer than we do.

But ... sometimes There Will Be Feet.

Hey, it's better than a hand ...

Creepier than the simple fact that this is occurring is the fact that no-one has accounted for the footless victims.

For each one that is found how many more are undetected?

I am beginning to think that the world's oceans are awash with feet floating in athletic shoes.

That makes for a lot of happy sharks, inkweary.

As a Canadian who recently relocated from BC, I gotta say, the foot stuff is creepy. So far, 6, and no one is stepping forward to claim them.

Charm @ 11, no one CAN step forward to claim them.

As a Canadian, who, until very recently, resided in BC, I gotta say this foot stuff is creepy. Six so far, and what is astounding is that no one has stepped forward to claim them.

This wouldn't happen if there was a 20-cent fee for severed feet at the checkout stand.

Damn computer keeps freezing when I post to this site.

@12 That was a joke. Damn, I guess not if I have to explain it.

Let's pray this one only goes through once.

Oh, and guess what? Will's wrong again. Average life expectancy at birth: Sweden 80.63, Canada 80.34, USA 78.06 -- not a decade longer.

You're using the published data from 2000, Fnarf.

Internal documents from WHO tell a different story.

Fnarf, are you mocking me, or are you trying to make me feel better?

Posted by Charm | July 9, 2008 1:08 PM

I'm not mocking you, Charm, I'm having the same trouble.

I knew I could draw you out with that, Will. You're so predictable, and so easy to burst. No, those are not 2000 numbers, they're from 2007, the CIA World Factbook. The UN numbers are almost identical (80.9, 80.7, 78.2).

And you haven't seen any internal documents from WHO. There are no such documents. You're trying to cover your ass with an obvious lie, like you always do, Mr. "I was talking about the Canadian publication".

The butterfly effect in action. A foot washes up on a shore and thousands of miles away Will and Fnarf to come to e-blows in the SLOG comments. The universe works in mysterious ways.

@20 Do you know where the CIA gets their population information? I can't find any detailed reference on the webiste. My guess is they get it from the WHO (and they'd probably be able to get their mitts on the ultratopsecreteyesonly internal WHO docs too).

Now is the time to put your best foot forward!

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

And the Swedes don't even know if it's a tasty foot, not until they're done pickling it.
