Clark for VP!!!

No surrogate logged more hours for John Kerry in 04 than Clark, and no surrogate was more requested in 2006 by democratic candidates than Clark.

If Obama wants a loyal attack dog that's great on defense, Clark's the guy. Get tough! No Edwards who rolled over to Cheney time and again.

Obama's been complimentary of John McCain's military record from the beginning. He cannot compete with him on that issue. Being respectful, even overly so, is a very good tactic for him to take. He absolutely cannot come even close to appearing to disrespect the military, in any way. You'll see more of Obama praising McCain's military record in the future.

hey, let's get this straight instead of perpetuating it:

clark DID NOT question Grampy's war record. He simply stated that said war record does not particularly qualify him for the presidency.

even though your point about the hypocritical reaction is valid, you also validate their point out that that they're reacting to an actual statement against Pop's war record.

no one said Mum-ra lied about his war record or received medals he didn't deserve.

Everyone should be questioning whether a man who has been psychologically tortured by a competing culture/society is to be trusted with the most power in the world to retaliate against said society or other group.

Dumb move by Clark to say that now, when the Obama campaign has made it clear that they're not even touching the whole POW issue other than to show "respect" for McCain's service, but...

...I'm glad that at least someone is bringing this up. It may have been an inopportune moment for Clark to say what he did, but that doesn't negate the fact that he was absolutely right.

Non, I don't think we need to worry about John McCain wanting to refight the Vietnam war.

It's the rest of the GOP I worry about wanting to refight the Vietnam war.

Plus, Vietnam isn't such an incredibly poor, podunk, bottom-10 nation anymore, are they? We need to find a new venue, some other incredibly fucked up, impoverished place, say, Afghanistan. There's a bipartisan consensus lately that we need to try harder there, more troops, more effort, more years! Surely, the locals will welcome this. Don't they always?

let us not forget that clark was a captain, an army ranger, in nam which would have put him in the bush as company CO, Clark had vc's bust a cap in his ass 4 times, thats right the motherfucker was shot 4 times so he aint no pussy. fighter pilots dropped bombs on targets. mccain got shot down he got caught and now he is a hero. oh please. im not saying the guy is a coward. far from it, but everybody acts like he won the congressional medal of honor for getting shot down and caught.

Speaking about war heroes, has the great Jack Murtha appologized yet to the Acquitted Haditha marines? One frickin rule: you don't call those in your military fraternity cold-blooded murderers before they are given a fair trial (especially since they were exonerated!). As far as fighter pilots dropping bombs killing innocent civilians, who ORDERED fighter pilots to bomb civilians in Bosnia? Don't blame the soldiers ordered to do their duty. Clark gave the orders to destroy.
