The birds have been confirmed with the H7 strain of the disease, rather than highly virulent H5N1 strain, regarded as a potential threat to human health.

Sorry ECB! No getting to say "I told you so" yet.

Don't forget Peter Weller also played the William Burroughs character in Naked Lunch.

I can't figure out why that NYT blogger thinks he knows red light cameras are bad. He cites a litany of studies that are all over them map: fewer deaths, fewer accidents, more accidents, no change in deaths or accidents, more rear end collisions, and they're so effective they no longer pay for themselves. Who knows which one is right? The real question is why is the methodology so flawed that nobody can agree on whether they work or not?

I just remember a few years ago when a firm contracted by California to run their red light camera program was caught manipulating the traffic lights timing to increase citations. They shortened the timing for the yellow lights to a little more than a blink so that the lights would turn to red with very little warning. The way that it was set up the contractor collected the fines and gave California a small cut. If you tried to refute a ticket it was forwarded to the contractors corporate office where you were immediately denied and they had the muscle of state law enforcement to make you pay up.

#5, everyone knows Obama is just a sleazy Chicago politician who will lie about anything for power and will send his thugs to disenfranchise poor little old ladies. Just read noquarterusa.net, they'll give you all the "facts".

Hey unPC: You can put all the links you want on your white supremacist blog. Why not put them there?

Sad Comment, you posted without reading.

The California Supremes just turned down an attempt to delay same sex marriage until November. This will help the cause of equality as same sex unions become a fact of life for 5 months leading to the November election.

Oops! that is what I get for being too fast on the post. Next time I'll read first, post second and no the other way around.

It had popped in my head because at the time of the CA problem I was living in NC and they were considering hiring the same company to run a similar program there.

Though Luchina Fischer's claim that Angela Jolie's portrayal of a real-life black woman being wrong is apt, her opening objection of Mina Suvari's portrayal a fictional character based on what happened to a real-life is false. True the story is similar to what happened when a black woman ran over a homeless man and left him to die in her windshield, a similar storyline occurred in Stephen King's Creepshow II. I think that if Hallie Berry played the character, people would claim that all black women are bad drivers and would flee from the scene of a hit and run.
