How bad does Pollet have to be to split the endorsement from the 46th?

To a guy who quit?

Isn't Pollet somehow very closely related to the 46th?

What's with all the vitriol?

I'm looking forward to the contested endorsements from the 43rd for ... um ... King County Exec?

What a clusterfuck. The judge should declare the entire district organization and demand they reconstitute, with a proviso that no one associated with the organization today be allowed to participate.

Because I'm sure everyone really wants to hear who these fuckheads think should run the government.

I was at the 46th endorsement meeting and I voted for Scott White. Scott gave a very humble and human speech. Gerry Pollet's wife Janet gave a ranting speech about a conspiracy. Gerry and Janet and their exclusive little club are a nasty group. Gerry's entire campaign team is still on the executive board and basically run the district. It is so disappointing to see Gerry put his personal ambitions above Party unity and important issues. Gerry is ripping apart our district organization that so many people worked to build (especially Scott).

Pollett may or may not be a jerk, but he's got a legitimate argument that Scott White has no business being involved anymore. This withdrawal business makes TWO episodes of White being unable to follow the simplest procedures imaginable.

Not only that, Fnarf, but from reading the Seattle Times' account of the withdrawal episode timeline today, the position taken by the county elections office seems rather suspect. Not to mention this business of faxing the form from Kurt Triplett's county office, then going back later to pay for the fax and get a receipt once he knew it was going to become an issue...there seems to be inside baseball going on here on both sides, but inside baseball is more serious when it involves elected officials, their staff, and public resources, as opposed to within a Democratic district organization, which is a private association.

Trey, are you seriously taking White to task when I just read in post #7 that Pollett is the VICE-CHAIR of the 46th? Did he not resign that position when he decided to run for election? What sort of "inside baseball" is that?

Pollett's entire campaign team is on the executive board? That's like stocking the board of a corporation with cronies of the CEO and then voting on a pay raise. I really can't take any of these allegations against White seriously until they man up and step down.

Conflict of interest, anyone? Bueller?

this stinks @ 10

You make an excellent point. Scott did the honorable thing and resigned from the executive board when he announced his campaign. Gerry Pollet, his wife Janet and their organizer/activist Betty Means are all still on the Board. Betty is the membership person who controls all the ballots!
