I've seen very little of Tomine's work that wasn't hot. Plus, he draws a good Asian, which is pretty rare... especially in Asia.

I like the drawing but it's very unrealistic. I don't think a UPS driver has ever handed anyone a package at their home. They just leave little yellow notes on your door while you're at work for three days straight and then you have to borrow a car and print out mapquest directions to the giant UPS sorting facility in the middle of nowhere to pick up your package hopefully before the place closes.

I buy 50-60 books a year. Haven't ever patronized Amazon.com and never intend to. I'm very proud of that, whether anyone else likes it or not, or gives a shit or not.

I guess I'm the only one who sees the sexual tension in that picture. God she wants him. Now. How many more unwanted books does she have to order before he notices? How long does he have to hang out in front of the store before she comes over to him? Why can't either of them just say "Let's fuck"? What is keeping them apart? Fear? Shame? Or something more? Something we dare not speak?

This is so so so perfect. I used to work at a bookshop in Wallingford and the ups guy would sometimes leave packages with us for the apartments upstairs from our store. He would always apologize profusely when it happened to be a crappy ass box from Amazon. People want to live in an interesting neighborhood that has cute little shops but don't want to put money where their mouth is. Needless to say that shop is now closed.
I also love it when people use their Amazon credit cards when they buy books. Thanks everyone!
