It would be nice if they had a step-by-step demo on how to get your hair do to that "fenders" thing. I'd do it for 20 minutes - just so I could walk into a 7-11, buy a pack of Kools and a tall-boy.

@2,

For a second I thought that photo was from an SNL skit or some such.

Man, the smile of the little girl on the bottom right reminds me of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" video...

How happy they look! Jeesh! Let's have a little joy for Jesus ladies. What's that? You think you might be a brain washed slave for a dick head husband who shows you no respect? Pity.

The '40s never ended for these people. Amazing.

Do you mean the 1840s Ursula? 'Cause I've seen South Pacific and that is not the way people dressed in the 1940s.

"Little House on the Prairie" style.

Do they sell them in bright rainbow colors for Pride parades?

Fucking hell, I like these even better than Leroy's. I'm probably what, an 18? What are the letters, bodice size? Are there any FLDS ladies here who will help me get a fit?

Posted by Fnarf | June 30, 2008 4:58 PM

@16 - I'm guessing the letters have a loose relation to bra cup size?

You people make fun of these goofy Mormon freaks, yet the Mormon Church holds incredible power in DC and of course Utah. If the LDS and these FLDS wanted, they could shut down every Gay bar in America in a week. Laugh at them, but don't for one second think they are not capable of making your life miserable. The Senate Majority leader is a Mormon, he might fuck with you if you laugh too loud.

If you're going as this for Halloween, be sure to pick a good name.

Oh honey, you haven't lived til you've checked out http://www.lydiaofpurple.com ... Be sure to scroll all the way through the page for the actual family modelling the clothes. The descriptions of the daughters they're trying to marry off are AMAZING.

Jordan, that website is glorious. Some highlights:

"We like some of you have daughters martial age still living at home waiting for God to supply a Godly young man as a life-mate. Ireael is 22, Michaele is 20, they have each about completely finished copying the Bible, O.T. and N.T., by typing it or hand written."

Q: Will you sew the pattern I send you?
A: Yes, we will sew patterns supplied to us (but they must be modest). We are modest seamstresses and do reserve the right to make appropriate Christ honoring changes to cover revealed chests, shoulder/top of arms, thighs, and knees, minimum sleeve length - we do NOT sew sleeveless outer garments, slits, mid-rifts, etc.

yes fnarf, you may be an 18, but you need to buy one a size or two bigger for that "boxy fit" so necessary for these people. i mean, heaven forfend you might actually show that you have a figure.

I'm guessing they've never heard of tailoring or more likely, clothes that actually fit are probably considered sinful...

I feel badly that they are led to believe that GOD is such an strict and unforgiving GOD. But Ya have to admire their ability to stick with their beliefs. And honestly, This is AMERICA. They have a right to believe their way, just as others have the right to believe another. Other than the things they do that my beliefs say are wrong, like marrying children and breeding women like cattle. I bet alot of them are more kind and caring than some of the folks ya run into in the super market! Pray for them to be released from a MAN who THINKS he's GOD! GOD would NEVER let a MAN choose if a women goes to heaven. Are you serious? That is brainwashing. GOD makes ALL decisions on your afterlife, NOT YOUR shared husband. Stop and think about it, follow your heart.
