there is no morality without religion! dr. laura says so. it must be true.

but rather than anecdotal stuff about religious nuts, how about something somewhat statistical regarding charitable donations, volunteer work, self-reported infidelity rates, etc. for comparing the two groups, religious and non.

When challenging the absurd notion that there is no morality without religion, I think pointing out examples of atheists doing good and moral deeds would be more effective than talking about the sins of religious people. When they say there is no morality without religion, they aren't saying that all religious people are good, they're saying that nonbelievers are bad, and that's the notion we need to combat.
