I think this gives your curse on Safeco more validity. How bad have our teams done since the WA Supreme Court upheld the ban on gay marriage?
really really bad.
the spanish euro cup team was HAWT.
hey, what about the san francisco 49ers? if any city's team deserves to benefit from god's windfall of gay support...
Scary, I've got to agree with you, even as someone who was supporting Germany (which I know is hopelessly unfashionable). Have you seen the champagne-spraying celebration videos?
OSU will take it; third times a charm
Asking God to make the Lakers win is too easy, there's no test of his power or will there. Now, if the Clippers or the Padres won it all, that'd be proof positive.
Careful with your logical fallacies (post hoc ergo propter hoc) - they'll bite you on the ass in the end.
Oh, umvue. Quit being a buzzkill. Just celebrate with Spain...
thank you, abby, thank you thank you thank you.
This would explain the the success of the Pats, Red Sox, and Celtics.
The 49ers had their gay bounce during the 80's, so let someone else have their turn. LA steals an NFL team, wins the Super Bowl, and maybe the Dodgers win the WS. Fuck the Lakers, hell, fuck the NBA.
Well, Gay marriage is legal in Germany as well - so unless we're still being punished for our not-so-friendly "attitude" towards homosexuality that we had "some time ago" - Spain just got the better team =)
The Red Sox didn't just win the Series last year, either. They swept the Colorado Rockies, whose ownership posited that his team was being rewarded with success by God because they tried to build a Christian team.
I suppose this year's record is God's telling them a thing or two about humility.
1.) The Lakers just lost the NBA Finals. After the gay marriage decision. So that's out.
B.) Boston fans are some of the most racist yahoos in all of American sports. Yet they are rewarded because of Massachusetts' gay marriage provisions? That's a very inconsistent blessing.
What would Marsha Homosexual Hardin say?
@13:
1) Not just after the gay marriage decision, but the Lakers lost to the Celts the day after the first gay marriages were celebrated under this new law.
B) Race wasn't a part of this supposition, just gayness. And really, as far as I can tell Boston sports fans only hate all other sports fans, I don't think they make much of a distinction about race. White Yankee fans are hated as much as any other color they come in.
It seems that Hugo Schwyzer isn't so optimistic about the awesome power of gay marriage to redeem the L.A. Kings. That's probably gonna take something like a female pope.
Yeah... unfortunately sports wise Belgium's never been rewarded for legalising gay marriage. Though... hang on... what year did Henin and Clijsters have their big breakthrough?? You could be on to something here!
