One name I'm suprised never gets mentioned is Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She's a woman, she was a Hillary supporter, she's smart, she's funny, she can out-argue anyone, she's Jewish and she's from Florida! Plus, she's kinda hot [at least,IMO.

Who the fuck is voting for Richardson? He SUCKS on the stump, was lousy in the debates. WTF?

Eli,
"Highly unrealistic"? Are we choosing who we want it to be, or who we think it will be? If the former, then "realism" doesn't really matter b/c it's a fantasy vote. If the latter, then why did you include "unrealistic" choices in your poll?

I cannot believe Richardson is leading this poll so far. Ew ew ew.

If the whispering is true, Richardson has a zipper problem. Bad choice. Why isn't Montana's Governor Schweitzer on their shortlist?

Fuck the whispers. Richardson, whom I liked a lot when this began, is a TERRIBLE choice -- he's a bad, bad campaigner, and he would be a disaster for the 2016 nomination, which is almost certainly going to be handed to the veep unless he's 80 years old. He looked like a deer in the headlights in the debates.

I still wish Al Gore was an option, even though it means I am in agreement with Will in Seattle.

Wesley Clark all the way! Fight military with military!

P.S. Those of you voting for Hillary and Richardson are obviously not thinking about this hard enough.

None of these people will be the Veep choice.

Also, am I the only one seeing the poll in the banner ad atop Slog and the banner ad in the poll frame?

Speaking of whispering zippers, I hear this potential candidate digs the chronic?

Otherwise I vote for Edwards, just because he talks funny and has great hair.

Well, I'm officially off the Jim Webb bandwagon, so that narrows it down to Clark or Sebelius. Now, she's got a lot of things going for her, but I'm sticking to my guns that the whole "military experience" thing will become more and more prominent as we inch toward November.

Bill Richardson is not the way to make nice with Hillary's supporters whom Obama badly needs on his side.

Clark would be a very good fit for the job, IMO.

I'm repeating some of my comments from the last poll:

Richardson did not perform well in the debates. Obama practically had to nudge him awake at one point and tell him the question that he had missed. He will get something for sticking his neck out, but not VP.

Edwards already said no.

The previous article on Webb has soured me on him, although he has many good qualifications.

It won't be Hillary. It just won't. And I don't think any other woman could fill the position without having people be upset that - if he's picking a woman for his running mate, why didn't he pick Hillary. It would just create bad feelings.

I'm going with Clark. While he won't automatically carry a state, he balances all of Obama's weaker spots and he'll make a dent with the older, yellow ribbon, Fox News watching set. Hell, he's a Fox News analyst. There's very little damage that deceitful, conspiracy chain emails could do to him.

I'm just not a fan of Wesley Clark; I mean, not for VP anyway.

Is he really a good set up for Pres in 2016? I can't see it. He'll be 72 in 2016. And, I don't think he's Presidential material, anyway. Plus, I'm not a fan of the one-note politician. He's military, and that's all he is.

At this point, I'm with either Sebelius or Edwards.

@16, what about Sebelius? You know, the only person on the poll you didn't mention by name.

Or did you mean her when you said "any other woman"? Do you think women are interchangable?

@9 - thanks, Kerri.

I keep switching back and forth between Sebelius and Richardson myself.

Richardson would be political suicide! If you like Richardson, vote for him in the primary in 2016.

What about Clark for the first-term and someone else (with a real shot in 2016) for the second term? !!!

oh come on... Richardson is HILARIOUS! Not sayin' I support him, but he *does* have a lot of international relation experience (something my Baby Daddy doesnt have). He isnt my first choice but he's not a bad one either. He really is funny though- what he said about not hearing the debate question and how obama helped him out. Too funny.

@18: Yes, that's what I meant. She has plenty of excellent qualifications and I'd be happy to see her on the ticket, but unfortunately, I think any other woman would stand in Hillary's impressive shadow right now and become a contentious issue. It would seem like a deliberate snub to Hillary. "We're going to make history, just not with you - 18 million votes or not." That's not a sentiment that he can afford right now. In a perfect world, that wouldn't matter, but it's not.

And knock it off with that "Do you think women are interchangable?" shit.

I just love seeing the GOP trash those who actually did their duty in Vietnam. It reveals them for the ainus they are.
