WARNING: The Secret of the Grain is really really really long. And mostly about Couscous.
This has been an emergency warning to all SIFF attendees - please remember, don't try to text during the film, or discuss Couscous, or we won't be able to restrain the crowds from pummeling you with their really thick SIFF guides ...
Apollo 54 will have four of the cast/crew at the event - should be fun. But remember, this is more of a 50's style parody ... if you're expecting Best of Youth, you're in the wrong theater. A better SF choice would be Chrysalis at the midnight showing Friday. Or Island of Lost Souls Saturday at Noon.
Frozen River is the fave of a lot of people who have seen it.
"Apollo 54" is a tedious lo-fi-CGI comedy with after-school special pretensions. Really skippable.
"The Secret of the Grain" should not be watched on an empty stomach. But it's a very good film.
I walked out on Secret of the Grain today. Shouting and small talk does not a good movie make.

You're lucky you got out when you did. Depending on when you left, the film probably had about another 2000 or so minutes of run time, 95% of which were composed of either; A. sweaty belly dancing, or B. the main character running around after his stolen moped. What a ridiculous load of pretentious rubbish.
