It is a packed-with-readings Saturday including an open mic, a children's book about an elephant, and a book about utopia. If you go, make sure to ask him if...

I love the readings too, but if someone hasn't already learned that the Stranger has all readings, online, every week, they never will. slog need not be a summary of the newspaper.

Recap a particularly awesome week's readings once every couple months, not every week. Same goes for the other stuff.

About Gary Vaynerchuck - he really does talk like that. He does a video podcast called Wine Library TV, and it's all high energy, sports loving, wine educating east coast guy talk. It's weird and awesome.

I disagree, I like the daily reading announcements.

I will skim the weekly announcements, but often a name or book title doesn't jump out at me when it should. Here we get a little context, which can help a lot ("Oh, that's the book that blah blah..." or "hm, that actually sounds interesting..." or "shit, I had forgotten all about this reading", etc.).
