I think after the last 8 years a lustration policy against the Bush family ever participating in politics again is seriously warranted.

I've found that the best way of dealing with this stuff is not to even read it. I mean, thanks for the headline, Dan. But I'll just close my eyes and listen to South Pacific instead.

I'd love to see more Bushes running. Start with Neil. I'm sure the Republican Party has safeguards against that sort of thing, though. I think GWB is going to be surprised at just how not-in-demand he is for anything at all after he leaves office.

I have just one thing to say to this:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Seriously, can noone rid our nation of this pretender and his Red Coat followers?

@5 - You mean that Bush's post-Presidential speaking circuit won't be as lucrative as Clinton's? That's a shock.

If Americans ever vote for another Bush ever, they'll very richly deserve what they get.

Well FUCK that.

Now now, @8, please. Do not put all Americans in a lump sum here.

Even the last election, where Bush actually won legitimately (which still makes my blood boil to this day), he still only won "legitimately" by 2 or 3%. There was still slightly under half of the voter-base who hated his guts, me being one of them.

There ARE informed, intelligent Americans. And honestly? I DON'T think they will richly deserve the horror inflicted upon us by the idiots in our nation that compose the slight majority.

There ARE those who vote the intelligent way. And it pains us as much, if not more than the rest of the world, to represented by such ignorant, hateful, greedy, self-serving idiots.

@8 i second that, Americans need to know better now. They should have known better in 2004, but they didn't and we have been repeatedly screwed with our pants on for the rest of the term.

Keep in mind, GW did NOT get elected the first time.

Would the country elect Jeb - probably not.

Could he still end up as president - duh.

Jeb had a chance to run in 2000, and let his brother run instead (to the detriment of us all). But now that George has officially become the least popular president in a century, I doubt that Jeb has any chance whatsoever of getting elected to any federal office.

I would like to propose that an Amendment be added to the Constitution. "No one sharing DNA with the Bush family or even sharing the name of the Bush family or even any men named George shall ever again be president of the U.S.A."
