He doesn't say that he has always supported the Court's reasoning. He scarcely hides that he would have ruled the other way. He refers to "that view," rather than "my view," for example. What he does say is that there's much to be OK with in the Supremes' decision, and it sounds as though that is true.

He was specifically asked about this and said that he thought there was an individual right to own guns, but that reasonable restrictions could be made.
