But seriously... some of that stuff is nuts. I blacked out at a concert off of just two tokes of some crazy Afghani hybrid. It was like the crowd was suffocating me; I've never had adverse effects from pot before, but that scared the shit out of me.

The more potent the pot, the cheaper it is. (You need to buy less of it in order to get you high.) The cheaper it is, the less violence there is associated with its illegal sale and transport.

For example: A significant portion of the large drop in crime in the mid-90's was due to a huge influx of coke in the late 80's, early 90's, which made it cheaper. When it was cheaper, you couldn't make as much money selling it, so it was no longer worth it for gangs and dealers to shoot each other over it.

Doesn't potency raise the bar for "desired effect" though? It doesn't frighten me any more than the idea that drinks at some bars are stiffer than drinks at others, just saying... does it really mean people will consume less, or just get more high?

@7 most likely you will actually use less. It's really hard to "just get more high" when smoking after a certain point. You'll probably be napping more than flying.

Eaten, it's another matter. Treat those brownies and cookies with respect the first time you try 'em. You can end up on a ride you'd rather not be on.

And if two tokes has you blacking out--it might not be just pot. A little dunk in PCP or embalming fluid (yikes) and your trip is going to take strange new directions even if you're an experienced smoker.

God is this "OMG, this isn't the pot that we grew up with; this shit's DANGEROUS!!!11!" trope getting worn out. Why don't they focus on the real scourge of today's youth -- Jenkem!

@1 - If you blacked out after 2 pulls you either were (a) already high / drunk, (b) a lightweight to the point of allergy or (c) not smoking pot.

im guessing its (c)

Where can one find out about the THC in local weed?, cause Mtl weed is sooooo much stronger than anything I've had from the US. We have fun making americans puke from smoking our stuff :P

When was the last time you were with your friends passing a joint around and stopped at 1/3 left because you were stoned enough? We always finished it. Stronger pot meant more stoned... which is not a bad thing.
