Ah, the sweet, sweet will of God. That kid would have probably grown up gay. Thy will be done!

"You have to consider the possibility that God does not like you. He never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen."

@2. I grew up in central Indiana. I don't even notice names like Raylene. Names like that are totally natural to me.

It sure looks like that whole prayer thing is working really well for this family, huh?

Dan -

You need to read Terrence's diary at Pam's

http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=5832

His piece is more related to your mother/father posts than this one, but this is what I had to work with.

And Im sure the parents will be thrown in jail this time and their church will be under scrutiny by the proper authorities, right right?

Dan, how about they will know we are Christians by the crosses we burn into our students' arms?

Another argument against theocracy. How cruel and stupid can people be? Join a church and find out. Criminally, there isn't intent, but negligence and child abuse.

7, that is really shocking. That teacher should be in jail for assault.

Finally. I can't wait for these nuts to go behind bars. "Killing children for the sake of god." Disgusting.

12, What makes you think they are going to jail? According to the article, it's legal for minors over the age of 14 to refuse treatment. Ludicrous, yes, but legal. The parents of the cousin are awaiting trial. The parents of the boy, no charges have been laid, nor do they expect any to be. I think they'll get off.

But hey, it's Darwinism at it's most effective, yes? Cleaning out the gene pool.

Just wondering what the point of this blog is--to display the darker sides of Christianity and reiterate the sins committed by the fallen Christians of the nation? Is there a purpose for posting dozens of articles about peopl who claimed to be religious and then did outrageous things? Just wondering what kind of mission you are on here.

Hey T (4), I grew up in central Indiana, too. I met a girl named Raylene at Purdue and didn't think it odd. It makes me sad to realize that Indiana is part of the bible belt...

I am a recent deconvert from xtianity, but I never would have relied strictly on prayer to heal my children. This is the logical outworking of literal interpretation of the bible. I wonder if these folks drink poison, too, because the bible says you can? (Mark 16:18)

Luke was supposedly a physician. Why did Jesus call a doctor to follow him and then, based on my interpretation, tell his other followers that they don't need a doctor to be healed? This is one of the myriad reasons I no longer believe Jesus was god, or even existed for that matter...
