According to the article, it's legal for minors over the age of 14 to refuse treatment. Ludicrous, yes, but legal. The parents of the cousin are awaiting trial. The parents of the boy, no charges have been laid, nor do they expect any to be. I think they'll get off.

I am a recent deconvert from xtianity, but I never would have relied strictly on prayer to heal my children. This is the logical outworking of literal interpretation of the bible. I wonder if these folks drink poison, too, because the bible says you can? (Mark 16:18)

Luke was supposedly a physician. Why did Jesus call a doctor to follow him and then, based on my interpretation, tell his other followers that they don't need a doctor to be healed? This is one of the myriad reasons I no longer believe Jesus was god, or even existed for that matter...
