Oh I get it! Because Obama's NOT white! Or, he's not all I'm confused.

Posted by David Schmader | June 17, 2008 12:19 PM

Well, he isn't black either so ....

I don't know what this button wants from me.

When he wins, it will become the Beige House.

Posted by David Schmader | June 17, 2008 12:26 PM

yes. the house will still be white. is this one of those trick questions? you know, the ones that test how "dumb" you are?

Posted by ellarosa | June 17, 2008 12:32 PM

They obviously couldn't find a racist graphic designer.

Posted by yuiop | June 17, 2008 12:33 PM

I guess the Clinton people are still stuck in their early 20th century racism ...

Posted by Will in Seattle | June 17, 2008 12:39 PM

@7: Uh, the button was sold at the Republican state convention.

Posted by Gloria | June 17, 2008 12:43 PM

Big mama's house

Posted by Odrama | June 17, 2008 12:47 PM

If John McCain is President, will we have to call it a White Home?

(Because he's old?)

(And old people live in a home?)

Goddammit, racist jokes are just easier to get.

Posted by Ziggity | June 17, 2008 12:47 PM

Ha. Nicely done, Ziggity.

Posted by leek | June 17, 2008 12:50 PM

Who knew George Clinton was so prophetic: "They still call it the White House, but that's a temporary condition, too." That, or he's behind these damn buttons!

Posted by Dominic Holden | June 17, 2008 12:50 PM

Can you dig it, CC?

Posted by It's Mark Mitchell | June 17, 2008 12:58 PM

sad, bad GOPster vendors.

But think.

It was built by slaves.

Today their descendants living in DC have no voting rights for any representatives who can vote on the floor of Congress.

They are unequal under the law to you and me.

And you care more about a statement on a button ?

Take the button away, DC is still a plantation and few "progressives" give a shit about a real deprivation of ral voting rights affecting what, about 300,000 black folks living today.

Posted by PC | June 17, 2008 1:09 PM

Another willogical statement up there @7

Posted by on a roll | June 17, 2008 1:10 PM

It'll be called the Barak-Shack!

Posted by NapoleonXIV | June 17, 2008 1:17 PM

Holy crap, PC. After all the racist false rumors you spread? Where do you get off acting all holy?

Posted by elenchos | June 17, 2008 1:33 PM

I'll see your "Will they still call it the White House?" and raise you one "No Cuntry for Old Men".

Posted by Mahtli69 | June 17, 2008 1:41 PM

Mahtli69 FTW!

Posted by It's Mark Mitchell | June 17, 2008 1:45 PM

Its not really a "house", now is it?

I call it 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Posted by max solomon | June 17, 2008 1:59 PM

@8 - right, I said the Clinton people. You know, like all the ones joining Facebook groups for their fellow Republican John McCain.

If it quacks like a duck, it ain't a swallow, Red Bushies.

Posted by Will in Seattle | June 17, 2008 2:05 PM

@21 ?

Any action taken by a republican can be attributed to Clinton people? Because there are people online claiming (who are probably a bunch of repub dirty tricksters) to be defecting from the Clinton camp to the McCain camp?

Posted by Willogical Fallacy | June 17, 2008 2:31 PM

@21 - so you're saying republicans cause swimmer's itch?

Posted by skye | June 17, 2008 2:33 PM

Osama's new Executive Crib will be slammin'!

Posted by michael strangeways | June 17, 2008 2:37 PM

It's comments like @21 that make me think Will really is losing his mind. Some gears have certainly slipped in the past few months, or else I just wasn't paying close enough attention before.

Get a grasp of logic, Will. Just because some Clinton supporters now support the Republican candidate doesn't mean that anything the Republicans do can be attributed to Clinton supporters. This button came from the state Republican party.

Don't hate me for this:

The White Cabin...

Classy! Racism is so 1990.

Posted by monkey | June 17, 2008 3:04 PM

polka dots would be more appropriate.

Posted by Yeah, that's better | June 17, 2008 3:05 PM

Is anyone actually surprised by this?

Posted by Gitai | June 17, 2008 3:19 PM

@ 30: Nope.

Also, racist jokes are just easier to get...You know why don'tcha?

Posted by Mike in MO | June 17, 2008 3:50 PM

Oh, I almost forgot, the most obvious answer to the actual question on the button...

Nigga, pleeze!

Posted by Mike in MO | June 17, 2008 4:14 PM

@23 - yes, but only in Lake Washington.

You lie down with infested ducks, you get up with skin that itches.

Posted by Will in Seattle | June 17, 2008 5:15 PM

The Executive Mansion only became The White House after they painted it to cover up the black charring from when the British torched it in the War of 1812. Inside the white house is a black house waiting to get out!

Posted by east coaster | June 17, 2008 6:29 PM

After I saw this button, I went to the website -- most of their pins were anti-Hillary, anti-Clintons. I searched for "Obama," "Barack," even "Hussein" ... nuthin.
So I googled anti-Obama buttons, and man, those people have so little going on! It's all like "I saw Obama chasing Osama on a llama," "Osama loves Obama"... the wittiest (if you can call it that) is "Barack is all talk." They got nuthin! Nuth - thin!!

Oh, except he'll turn the "White House" into the "Wright House"! Get it? Get it?

Posted by Sara | June 17, 2008 11:16 PM

At least I don't trowel on makeup like a trollop, c**t.
